A Woman’s Journey Training: Module One
Connect with your divine feminine as we learn yogic principles and asanas to support others and nurture ourselves through hormonal balance, the stages of menstruation, fertility, pregnancy and birth. This is the first in a three module training and is a Yoga Alliance 20 Hour Continuing Education Course (60 Hours when you complete all three modules).
The focus of Module One is Yoga for Hormonal Balance, Menstruation, Fertility, Pregnancy and Birth. For Yoga Teachers, you will learn asanas to incorporate into your existing classes to modify poses for pregnant students. You will learn in depth techniques, up-to-date information and ways to adapt traditional poses for pregnancy. For all students- yoga teacher or not,- we will tap into the wisdom that has been passed down through generations of women and their midwives, ideas that have not always been written down.
In Module Two, we will learn how to support women through the early weeks after birth, regaining core strength, alignment and how to embrace the changes of motherhood both physically and emotionally. You will learn yoga sequences for breastfeeding and relaxation, as well as Baby Yoga and Baby massage techniques combined with thoughts on positive bonding and baby whispering.
Module Three completes our journey with wellness for women as life moves on; to include yoga and massage activities as well as how we adapt emotionally to different stages. Menopause timings and experiences are so different for every woman. We will gain some understanding into what these may be and how to support peri and post in a positive and caring way. The wise woman time of our life can be so wonderful and freeing.
Led by Senior Yoga Teacher Sally Lomas and supported by Katey Wheelhouse, our training will be held in beautiful Woodstock, NY at Menla – a hidden oasis set in a secluded valley beside an enchanting stream in the heart of the Catskill mountains. A delicious vegetarian lunch is included each day.
